New to raising chickens

We just received our 6 hy line red hens this week. They are adjusting to there new home. I am a new beekeeper of 1 years. I was told my chickens will eat my bees. When I give the chicken a dead bee they did nt pay any attention to it. Anyone have any problems with chickens and bees co existing they are not side by side?

Hi and welcome to BYC - great to have you onboard. In my experience, my chickens avoid bees - even when the bees are drinking from their watering stations, so I'd suggest that there is no problem with chickens munching through your colony.

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele

:welcome

I'm not a beekeeper but I've had them flying around the garden the same time the chickens were out munching on it...no problem with the chickens eating the bees that I've ever seen.

I think chickens would find meal worms a lot tastier., and easier to catch.  :welcome
