New to BYC, and trying to find Chicks in Middle TN?

I am new here, and am trying to find where I can find Dominique chicks, or just find a good reputable place to buy chicks. Not really interested in buying chicks from TSC or someplace like that. I am located in Middle TN. I would also love some advice on what breeds are good for, and with 5 year old children? Thanks to anyone willing to help or comment!

Personally I believe Dom's would be a good breed if you have any luck finding them. Also silkies if your not wanting them for egg production. They aren't great layers but would be great with kids and are also very broody. I believe that there are several breeds that would be good. Of course within any breed you have different personalities. Hope you find what you are looking for. Welcome to BYC! Wendy
 
Thank You so much for the reply! I actually found them and we are going to pick them up this Saturday! We are buying them from The Poultry House out of Franklin, TN? Any feedback on them? They seem like really nice folks through email, and had some good reviews here on BYC...
