New Woods Styled Coop 10x16

as of now no I will not close in the bottom. I have 6 cats that will keep anything from living there
You might want to close it off to keep the chickens from getting under there....
....'cause if they get stuck, or lay eggs, there you probably can't get under there to 'rescue' them.

Thanks I will get on that . I had not thought of foxes taking up under there. but they are in my area . I don't want foxes to eat my babies

Hi,
We know th Woods coop is greta for the northern climes. How does it do with single cob birds and bantams in a cold climate? Can one put in a single comb or bantam breed and expect no frozen combs, wattles in a winter where a week or so hits 8 below without wind chill factor?
Thanks,
karen

Nice to meet you 3riverschick. I am not sure about the frost bite issues. I live in East Tennessee our winters are not that cold. Also this is my first year with the coop. Basically I needed a coop, found a book by Dr. Prince T. Woods " Fresh-Air Poultry Houses", and setin to building it .
