Help I don't know what to do

My chicken left her nest and one of her eggs is still making noises and I don't know what to do. We don't have an incubator and humidity is a problem. Please help its been trying to break the shell for so long and my lamp can't keep it super warm and it's only happy when I use my body heat but that doesn't provide humidity and I don't know what to do

If you trying to crack the shell as you crack it dip your finger in some water and rub it on the part of the egg you cracking.

That will help with the humidity. Just try to keep it at least above 90 degrees, if your heat lamp isn't working,  you could use a wood stove put it next to that. If not use your body heat heat and just keep putting water on it.

Hi welcome-byc.gif

Glad you could join us here! Trying to keep it as warm as you can is your only option without an incubator. Please do check out this link ~ http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching
If the chick can't hatch because of the lack of humidity you may need to assist it.

Wishing you the very best of luck with your chick fl.gif

Maybe try using a hot water bottle wrapped in a blanket under the chick in the coop. Hopefully it will hatch by itself (or with a little help as advised in a previous thread) and be accepted by its mother.

I had a chick that was attacked by another mother hen and looked on its way out. After sitting on the hot water bottle for a half hour or so it came back to life and was returned to its coop. A mother accepted it back.

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
