why have my chickens laid a 2 cm egg

the egg is next to a quater and and a 2p coin
 
Aww i wonderr why too, is there a rooster that can help feterlize her! Maybe we will see a mini new type of chick! People here might prob answer!! I want to know too! What type of hen did u had.
 
Its not uncommon in new laying hens - similarly getting eggs like watermelons!

Bantams don't lay large eggs. Is she getting proper nutrition, layer feed with a free choice crushed oyster shell on the side? Or a lot of "this" and "that" kitchen scraps etc? Has she been wormed. How is her health?
 
My chickens lay one of these occasionally too. Many refer to them as "fart", "wind", or "fairy" eggs. It's just a small glitch in the "egg factory". :)
