Chick with splayed legs...

Hi.. I recently hatched a chick with splayed legs. I looked up how to treat it and have the "hobbles" on her legs. I used a small rubber band and a small piece of drinking straw in the middle.. She doesn't really seem to be walking at all with that on but my question is.. How long should I leave the hobbles on for it to correct the problem?? Thanks!
 
You might try a bandaid cut in two lengthwise or vet wrap strips which are easily removed. Some chicks with hatching problems just can't stand, but I would keep trying different methods. a chick chair may help get her up to strengthen the legs.
