My silkies pile at night, sometimes not as gently as I would prefer. I'm starting to believe they are not smart enough to roost.

Another funny find! I could not find 6 of my "teenage" chickens. They were all crammed into one nesting box! One on top of the other. They like being together. They have been since birth. They now have since been placed on the roosts. But they cram next to each other on the roosts too. They are funny!
My juvies sleep in a pile except for a few of them. Slowly they are changing to the roost. They are 15 weeks old now.

Well I am glad I found that mine are not the only ones. Sounds like they all try to get the closest to the door. They love the roosters during the day but beddie time all of them are scrambling on top of each other. They are 10 weeks. So I will not worry about this. Thanks everyone for the comments.
