Hi guys! I'm new on this site.
So I have three chickens. I'm not sure what breed they are, but they're all girls. One gray one that'll be white when she's older and two rusty-red ones that will be speckled brown.
We made them a perch and they seem to be doing very well, but I have two questions:

1. How do you tell what breed your chickens are?
2. How do you tell how old your chickens are?
Thanks guys!!!

I'm glad you joined us!! You might want to try posting those questions on another thread with pictures of your chicks and see if people can help you out. You should also check out the Learning Center, it may be able to help you out with your questions, but if not you'll still learn plenty of information on there!

Hello

and welcome to BYC!!! I was just about to say the exact same thing as KeyFlock! Posting pictures of your chickens and asking what they are will probably be the best way to get an idea of what breeds you have. Also, you could go through the list of breeds in the breeds section of this site and try to match your chickens to one of them. Hope I helped!

Hi and welcome to BYC. If you post photos when the chicks are around 6 weeks old (on the "what gender or breed is this") then you should get a slam dunk in terms of breed and gender.

All the best
