I purchased a mix of 1 day old pullets from a site online that the farm was located within a few hours from me.. my buddy and I went in together and I only kept 3 and he took on the rest. They were supposed to be all female and a mix of plymouth barred rock and golden comet. They sent an extra chick as well, and they said it was a rhode island red. I realize there is some error margin with sexing and I just wanted to post pics and get opinions now that mine are a few weeks old.

The golden comet seems very light compared to pics online and is feathering white..been a little worried that it's a roo. i've read that the hens often feather white before turning red. May still be too young to tell. This is "her."

Next is the barred rock. breed is obvious. hen or roo? white spot was more concentrated when younger.

and lastly what i think to be the rhode island red. is this correct? hen or roo?

Thanks for any help!

You have a Barred Rock and a Red sex-link. I'm not sure on the first one though, if it is a Red sex-link cockerel I feel like its comb would be reddder and there would be some red on its feathers.

The bulk of the order was supposed to be golden comet. Most of the ones my buddy took were the yellow instead of red as well. Maybe they're 2nd generation and the sex-link didn't apply?
