Hi all
One of my older hen's feathers are looking terrible, her neck and face have been bald for a long time and now her skin on the face and neck looks a whiteish colour and crusty. Her feathers underneath her wings are gone along with the feathers on her lower back. Is this moulting or something else? We recently added two new hens to our small flock of four and the hen in question has and is still extremely bossy with them.
I am relatively new to keeping chickens but Pretty looks more like a vulture rather than her normal "Pretty" self.

Looks like she is going through a molt, but the white crusty could be Favus or a bacterial infection. You can try putting some athlete's foot cream or anti-fungal cream on those areas to see if she improves.
You also may want to up her protein intake to 18-20% use a feather fixer formula, an all flock poultry food, eggs, tuna, meats, to improve her protein which will help with the feathers coming back in.

Again, I agree with Wyorp Rock (we seem to think along the same lines quite frequentlyhaha). One other option to investigate would/could be mites, just something else to think about! Good luck!
