I think the Tractor supply store sold me geese instead of ducks...

LOL my sister recently bought a couple of Pekin ducklings and a Rouen to keep her little mallard duckling company and was completely unprepared for how they can take 4 ounces of feed and 8 ounces of water and turn it into 11 pounds of poop and thoroughly soaked bedding.

So now I have 3 Pekin ducks that are about 3 lbs each. They're living in the seasonal pond in the front pasture and having a great time putting in weight (hopefully a nice layer of fat, too!).

Hello everyone, a little less then 2 weeks ago I purchased 5 ducklings from the store at which time they said they where 1 week old, which made sense since the chicks they had where also 1 week old and where only slighter smaller than the ducks. Now I am thinking they are not ducks but geese because they are have grown so much its insane. when I bought them all five could rest in my two hands cupped, now only on duckling can fit in one hand and even then half of its body is outside the hand boundary.

I posted some pictures of them in hopes someone can tell me what they are, I have had chickens for 4 years now and this is my attempt to expanded my boundaries with water fouls, so my knowledge concerning them is limited.

Any info would be great

I was at a TSC last week looking for broad breasted white poults and the lady in charge of poultry said they sell chicks and ducklings only, no turkeys. I guess the chicks and ducklings only would mean no geese, either, right?

OTOH, it's TSC so I'm surprised when the Cornish X are in a bin marked Cornish X and not scattered throughout the rest of the other bins.
