My ducklings are about 3 weeks old and outside in a pen with a heat lamp at night time. I have a duck that is breathing fast and has it's mouth open. I'm not sure if it's catching bugs. Or sick?

Do they have a way to get out from under the heat lamp? They may be too hot.

Yes. They do. They have a very large pen and there are shadows all in the pen. It's 10 feet by 6.
When I picked him up he stopped. Hopefully he just wanted bugs.

My two khakis do that with there mouths also don't know why but they are fine,they are nine weeks old now and still do it now and then ?
