Ok I don't have any bird at the present moment, but I seen some earlier and was wondering, why is that the male ducks can't talk like the girls? I remember 3 years ago I was 16 and got my first birds. 2 ducks and 2 white Chinese goslings that both turned out to be ganders. One of the ducks started to sound like it had kind of a cough and couldn't quack. The female grew and it sounded like a loud "QUAAAACK QUACK QUACK QUACK QUACK" but I thought the other had repiratory problems. It was more of a coughing sounding, slow little "wuack... wuack... wuack". I got worried and told my vet who was experienced in poultry and he just laughed and told me it means it was the male. He grew up healthily and the hen even had a small clutch of ducklings from him the following spring, as well as many that came from my incubator, but I'm wondering, is there any explanations why God made ducks like that?
