I'm trying to figure out what's in your picture.  Are there just two birds pictured?  I ask because the  body nearest the front - looks like it has no feathers  on the back half, and I don't think a chicken can turn it's head around enough to look that way.   I have to think it is  either younger than you think, or it's a male because it is so slow to feather out.  What I see of the bird behind it looks like a pullet.

They are both feathered. Just a fuzzy rear. :P I am pretty sure I have a pullet and a roo. Just by their mannerisms. The one that I think is a roo stand big and proud. But time will tell.
