So I found a duck egg under a tree two days ago and it was still warm so i took it home and have been keeping it under a heat lamp and in some blankets. it has a few cracks in it but nothing that seemed to have penetrated enough to cause the egg to leak or anything. I have no idea about hatching eggs and I dont even know if this little guy is alive or not. I have heard that I should see veins when it gets old enough but I have not seen those yet. when I found it and yesterday there was a definite yoke in there, and it is not visible in the pictures all too well but it was kinda still there today, but today i can not see it as well as before. the air sac at the top also seems to be getting slightly larger. I really want to know if it is still alive in there but I have no idea right now. thoughts???? does anyone think it could have survived and I should keep trying or is this one a lost cause, or even too soon to tell?? help
