So I finally gave in to my first broody of the year last Saturday. She's been a very determined little Mama so I set up a kennel for her and gave her a few eggs. Everyday I take her off the nest because she's showing no interest in food, water or dust bathing. Last night I went out to candle her eggs and found the whole nest CRAWLING in tiny bugs!!!!! I plan on bathing her today with a little dawn dish soap and doing a thorough coop cleaning. I'm heading to the feed store this morning for some DE........ but what else should I be doing? I've owned chickens for 4 years now and have never had this problem before, so I'm kind of freaking out!
On a side note, I have a bunny hutch in the coop also. Is the rabbit at risk from these critters as well?
Please!!!! Any advice is greatly appreciated!
