Is it possible for 10 week old pullet to lay an egg???

Also very curious what makes you think the little one is a Cockerel? I confess I can't tell until they are a bit older so I'd love to learn the "signs".
The red comb, and I think I see a bit of red coming in on the shoulder...You're ten week old, if a pullet, is not nearly mature or developed enough for egg production. All the energy is being put into growing, and they are still growing in their 'grown up' feathers at that age. It just doesn't leave anything left over for egg production. That's one big reason why pullets are slower to mature than males. It takes so much energy for egg production, that it's not until they are all done with growing and feathering in that there is enough for eggs. Males, on the other hand, have a much simpler reproductive system. It takes less energy to develop it, so they mature sooner.
