l am a new hen owner of just one week. We bought 6 Red Shavers 1 year old. When we brought them home they were laying 6 ggs a day for 3 days. Then it was down to 5 for 3 days. Today there was 4 and 1 very small egg the size of a robin egg. I need some advise what is happening?

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us.

What you are seeing is perfectly normal. When chickens are moved to a new place it causes stress, which suppresses egg-laying. the eggs you were getting initially were those already developing in the birds. Just be patient and i am sure that they will resume regular laying once they feel relaxed and happy.

all the best

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
