Looking for Chickens near Reading Massachusetts area!

I got two new chickens ,The Plymouth Rock and
buff orpington, and on the first day I admit I tried to rush things! I let them in with the others and the others weren't happy, (I was there the whole time,I wouldn't leave them by themselves with the old ones) I have now gone back to plan a which is the seperate them for a week where the others can only see them. Is it okay that I rushed it at first, is there anything I should do now?

I understand what to do thanks!

, but I was just wondering what I should do because I tried to rush it, did rushing it affect anything that I should do?

You are certainly not being annoying - you don't know, so you ask - no problems at all!

One more question @CTKen
My old girls get the day to free range in my backyard , so I was wondering should I keep my two new ones in their temporary closure or should I let them free range too? I let them free range yesterday and that's when the dominant fighting began? Or should i leave them in the closure for the week like I am supposed to?

I'd suggest leaving them in their own enclosure. I usually keep newbies in a separate coop / run for the first couple of weeks - after that i open the gate and let them do as they wish. If they want to venture out and join the flock in the garden they do, but they usually only approach the flock an inch closer each day. If you maintain their food and water in their own area, they are unlikely to stray far from that to begin with, but as their confidence grows, they will be fine.

BTW- have multiple feeding stations, even when free ranging cuts down on food related aggression.

I am seperating the two new girls from the oldies for a week! When it's time to put the two new girls in with the others at night , do I have to worry about them killing the two new girls in the morning? Will I have to get up before they do and wait to make sure everything will work out? Or will the old girls already be used to the two new ones?
