Hi all, hope someone can help me.
I recently rescued an abandoned Call Duck from my local duck lake, i am nursing her wounds from the resident mallards & preparing her for a new home ive found (She is too small to add to my own flock.) The only problem i am currently encountering is in the last week she has laid 2 eggs & has decided to nest them herself (so i am leaving her to it), but every day i go in & find them covered top to bottom in poop!!
Now i have cleaned them twice but am reluctant to do it anymore as i dont want to wash off the protective outer layer of the egg... But she just keeps pooping on them!
Does anyone know if this is normal or perhaps a 'wild duck' trait??
