I have show chickens so the coop is cleaned every day. I have a small scraper and pick up each piece of poop and put it in a container and dump on dead grass spots in the yard. Next I get seven dust and sprinkle it in a corner so mites or lice are prevented. Lastley hay, water, food needs to be cleaned everyday.

I have 25 birds in a 8'X8'X7' high coop with attached 8'X24'X9' high run. I clean the coop thoroughly every week which includes changing the bedding, removing and scraping/hosing down the roosts and ladders, sweeping the run, and applying DE to the new bedding. Like Southern Ann I change the water twice a day (in the AM before work and after I get home), and make sure to clean any debris out of their feed troughs. To me cleanliness is next to Godliness, and the gals seem to appreciate it quite a bit. So far I haven't had any problems with lice or anything but I've only been chickenin' since January so it's a little early to tell whether this schedule will work over the long haul. Hopefully it will.

I have a 12x7 covered, deep litter run and a 5x7 coop with a poop tray under the roost and a deep layer of shavings, leaves and dried grass on the floor. I haven't cleaned out my run since I started deep litter over a year ago. I did spray down the whole run this spring with the garden hose. I spend about a minute a day scooping the poop board but I haven't cleaned the coop since October, I think, and I probably won't until October again.
