First night in the coop

Our girls just went into their coop. They spent the day in there with the doors open to get more air flow (it was hot) and now its finally getting dark and cool. We shut them in and they were SUPER loud so I figured they were scared (dark and new home) so we ran their red light in. They are still noisy. Not as loud but still can hear them.

Im so nervous they are gonna attrack predators. They seem scared. Weve supplied them with everything we could. The coop is secure.

Please tell me theyll be okay? :(

Hang in there! Mine just went out for their first night tonight too! I feel very confident in the structural integrity of my hand built coop. Our girls and boy were outside all day running around doing chicken things. My worry is really about our dogs getting into the run. We locked them in the coop while we left and our two big dogs couldn't find a way in, and they gave up. Good sign. I just am mostly worried as they are out in the run tomorrow with the two smart and rotten doggies. Your coop should be a secure place I would think. Hope this helps some with the worries!
 
Chicks are nervous when first moved into a strange new home. It's unfamiliar for one thing, and when it gets dark, they get concerned about not being able to see what lurks just as small children are.

For the first week, it helps to have a night light in the coop so they can be assured of knowing where they are, and it will help in guiding them into the coop when it comes time to go inside.

I had a big tough rooster who refused to go into his coop at night until I re-hung his red heat lamp (which I don't use anymore) just to give him the reassurance he needed, then I shut it off once he was settled in.
 
Thank you both for the reassurance! I havent checked on them yet (just woke up) but my husband did at 7am and they were fine.
