Is this even possible, probably not with breeding quality but perhaps with hatchery quality? My DH got me a chick that was supposed to be a Salmon Faverolles pullet since I really wanted a bearded chicken and that was the only option where he went. I looked the chick over and it has five toes and the right markings for its age and right amount of leg feathering but does not have the beard fluffiness. If it matters the chick is one week old. If I can I'll try to post a picture later but I was just curious if this has happened to anyone before, or if perhaps some chicks grow their beard later?
