Pullet badly pecked

Little chick was badly pecked by full grown hens. We've separated them and getting ready to wash her in warm water and soap, followed by ointment. Any other suggestions and advice on how to handle the flock? Poor Rhonda!!!!
 
Welcome to BYC. Chicks should be behind a fence from older chickens until they are of similar size, unless they have been raised within the flock by a broody hen. I usually place mine in a pen in the coop where older and young ones see each other without mingling for several weeks before letting the younger chickens out. Having places to hide can help. Use saline or betadine to clean wounds, or spray with Vetericyn wound spray. Antibiotic ointments such as plain neosporin or bacitracin are good. Bruising can look green, but watch for infection or abscess. Keep flies away, or house inside the home to prevent flystrike (maggot infestation.)
