My chicks are 5-6 weeks old (not sure exactly, I'll attach pictures). Currently, they live in our garage with a heat lamp, and get let out during brief periods with supervision in a covered dog run (kennel). I would like to start leaving them out during the day in the dog run, so they aren't so cooped up inside, but I probably couldn't manage to get a heat lamp outside. The morning temps are about 50F (around 7am), and the high gets to be around 70F-80F during the day. I mainly just worry that it will be too cold in the morning, during the day it is warm enough. But, will 50-ish degrees be too cold? I would bring them back inside at night with their heat lamp, since they are not large enough to be in the coop with my grown hens quite yet. (I have 9 chicks in total).
