Hey everyone, quick update and couple more questions on the chickens. I am currently almost finished with the coop (chickens are about 6-8 weeks old not sure). I will throw some pictures up when finished. Chickens are all super healthy, happy, getting along nice. We did switch out the smaller brooder cage for pdz instead of pine shaving.

Here is just a general picutre showing them. Currently we have 4 marans, 3 silkies, and 5 Isa browns (i think)

These are what I believe are isa browns? Can anyone answer that for sure?

And this one was from the same batch of chickens, but looks totally different? See how much white she compared to the others?

Now some one told me these were black copper marans, but I am thinking they are cuckoos marans?

Now see how the picture above they are all black mostly, this one is gray with striping? I am assuming its a male? (Heres a picture of 3 of the marans)

Now here is our silkies. I have heard they are very hard to sex. The only thing I can notice difference is the head comb? Can anyone chime in? We think the first silkie is the rooster

Sorry for this post being badly constructed. I have work in less than an hour and had tons of pictures and several questions. Thanks for any help

Also, my wife had a question about this maran. She thinks it might be a rooster as well. I am not sure since the one we think is a rooster is totally different in coloring and stance. She said the way it holds its body is of a rooster.

On the red/white chickens. Isa Browns are a specific type of red sex link. The ones you have are indeed red sex links (and female) but I can't say for sure they are definitely Isa Browns. I do know they will be prolific brown egg layers.

For the "black copper" Marans, they obviously are not. They could be cuckoo Marans if they have white legs and single combs. If they have yellow legs and single combs they are barred Rocks. If they have rose combs and yellow legs they are Dominiques. I can't tell from the pictures what comb they have. The barred one that is lighter in color is a cockerel.

I would give the silkies some time but so far neither is an obvious male.

The other Marans you thought could be a cockerel, could you get a better picture of the comb?

Thanks for response. I will try and get my wife to get a picture of the combs. The red sex links in the description said they where a RIR X white. And idea as to why the one particular hen has so much white on it?

And we are guessing right around 6-8 weeks old? If that's true, egg production should start in about 20 more weeks?
