I bought three black laced golden Wyandottes at a chicken swap a few days ago. In all the excitement I forgot to ask some important questions - the most important is "how old are these chicks?" Looking for any help!

Thanks for the welcome - this is such a great resource for newbies like me! Interesting that you all agree on one week, because I was really thinking three weeks. Here's why (and I probably should have added these in my first post): I've kept the brooder at about 80 degrees and they seem plenty warm, they like to hop up on their perch or my finger and fly off, and they seem quite tall to me compared to the day old chicks at tractor supply. Thanks for your help, maybe I should warm it up a bit in the brooder.

If they seem happy, I definitely wouldn't raise the temp at all. I used a heat lamp last year and the EcoGlow this year. In the garage this year, the temperature was around 62. At a week old, they spent very little time under the EcoGlow. They'd pop in for a few minutes, then run around again. As long as they aren't huddled together cheeping, they're fine! Also, just in a week's time, they grow SO much!

Just to give you an idea. Plus I love to show mine off. They're already month old now, I can't believe it! They look completely different from these photos.
