Please excuse my ignorance in this subject. We allowed our broody duck to sit on some of her eggs. She originally sat on 5 then one disappeared. No idea where that went. Now I have been in today (I haven't candled or handled them for a few days giving her piece but checked today. One egg looks slightly hair line cracked not sure if that's the duckling or that it's been knocked. Anyway this egg has a moving duck inside and I can hear a very faint tap, shall I leave this to mum or keep checking?? The other reason I'm stressed is the other three eggs don't look quite right. They almost look black inside so I think we've lost them so I really want one to be a success.

Hopefully you can see these pictures. These are the same egg from different sides

Yes anytime. Do you think the dark ones are bad? It almost looks like a big wet chick in there but when I candle I see an air sack and no movement

You could try tapping them and see if anybody talks back. Big dark spots on duck eggs generally mean a dead duck. I'd just wait it out. If its meant to be, they'll hatch.
