Hi everyone! Getting everything ready for the arrival of my chicks. Should I use the dlm in the run as well as the coop? I was thinking I would leave the grass there for them and use the pine shavings once the grass was gone or it gets to messy..Thoughts

Not sure what is your setup, but it sounds like you have a small coop and a run to match. I would suggest for that setup to use pine shavings in your coop and make your run deep litter method. Then every time you clean out your coop, just let the shavings keep accumulating in the run. Add the grass into your run to make it smell good, provide plenty of scratch opportunity, and a dry environment.
WISHING YOU BEST and

Thanks for your information,my coop with an attached covered run is 4x9.I am unable to let the chickens free range d/t predators.
