Yesterday evening I noticed that our bantam rooster wasn't acting right, we ended up brining him in and separating him from all the others. He was acting lethargic, was pale, sticking tail out with diarrhea, which was white and brown (but very little brown), it was kind of a grey pasty consistency. Was laying down a lot but standing occasionally. We gave him water win electrolytes and some oats in his food. He was eating and drinking. There was no improvement in the am so went to get antibiotics. But by the time we got home he was gone. Any idea??? We are treating the rest with tetracycline. And cleaned out the coop. But we just aren't sure what happened or what to do from here.

Sorry for your loss. How old was he? It is sometimes hard to guess what went wrong without a necropsy by your state vet. He could have had some organ failure, but without examining him from head to toe and picking up on symptoms, it can be hard to know what happened. Diarrhea can be a symptom of so many illnesses. Hopefully this was not contagious.
