Hello all.

Yesterday evening my husband and I were outside with our dog, an Australian Shepard. She went to round up our chickens as they had gotten to close to the road and after doing so my husband noticed that we had a hen who had one leg raised off the ground and was hopping on her other foot. We picked her up and looked at her leg right away. We noticed no breaks, no cuts, no explanation really. When we put her back down she continued to hop on her one foot while keeping her other foot off the ground and to the side a bit. We set up our chicken infimary in the house and there's shes been since last night.

Today when checking on her I still cannot feel a break, feel any hot spots, or swelling but she is still keeping her leg off the ground and to the side a bit. She is eating and drinking and pooping like normal.

I'm unsure what is the problem exactly and how to go about treating her. She's at least two years old and a healthy bird besides this leg issue. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. If I missed any information please let me know and I will do my best to get you what you need.

Also, my dog is very gentle with the birds normally and prides herself on keeping them in line. I'm wondering if she possibly startled the bird and she could have sprained or dislocated something? Again not sure how to treat those or if that's even my issue.
