HELP Sexing a Salmon Favorelle 35 days old

Im posting for a friend who cant post pics here ... she also has thought roo going by colouring ... can the colouring be off though, can a pullet be this colouring ?

I've seen quite a few Favorelles pullets that had the off black feathering, though not as much as the one pictured (all of them were hatchery birds). But, I thinks it's best to assume that it's probably a cockerel.

I think it is a badly colored pullet. From Ideal perhaps? If it were a cockerel I would expect more comb color at this age, a whiter coloration in the head and hackles, and more of a general overall multicolored appearance.

There have been other awful colored females posted here before

As I mentioned this is not my chick .... and I'm sure it is a hatchery bird - the only one (of that breed) so nothing to use as a comparison.....

But going on the 'normal' development/features I'm leaning pullet too, a bit of that is wishful hoping I think though is making my guess a little bias.

I don't know if it is always true of faverolles, but I have one pullet and four cockerels and the cockerels are taking FOREVER to feather in. The pullet has all her feathers, but the cockerels only have their wings mostly done. I believe they're about 5 weeks old too.

Interesting. Yes the above bird is mine and it is a hatchery bird. It really doesn't have typical rooster features like I would expect, but possibly a badly colored pullet. Hmm.

So it looks 50/50 pullet vs cockerel? Any more opinions? Even if she's ugly, if she lays she stays ;) I just want a better idea
