Just joined after browsing for years for advice and ideas. I started a year ago with 3 hens. I lost one to depredation and gifted another, then back filled with 2 from a friend. This year I tried my luck at raising bantams, and they are not the breed for me (lost two to depredation again because they could get out of my fences). I gifted my last bantam and restarted (again) with 5 chicks. So now we're up to 8 in total, and my husband is beginning to be a bit concerned about this chicken habit...
