Pet Mouse Thread!

Hah yup exactly reuse and recycle :D You could DIY a cage by connecting them all together, but I dunno what cages you've got. A few years ago I made a cage out of old plastic tubs, glued myself to it with hot glue and then when I finally finished and put my ham in he broke out while we were away for the weekend and ate my curtains lol. My mother was not happy.... but hey what can ya do. I was still proud of it :p

Haha that sounds frustrating! Probably what would happen to me, though! My mice escaped from an aquarium that had a makeshift lid, and one didn't come back .... and there's mousetraps in my house.

Poor little Peter - hopefully he was intelligent and avoided all of them on his way out of the house! Thomas was caught in a live mousetrap I put in my sister's dresser (where he took up residence while he was at large.) My hamster never got away.
I'll have to look at my cages and see what I could fit together. I'm sure I could do something, and, if not, I have a large aquarium and a large cage, so whichever is bigger would work. Anything I would need to know about keeping them in an aquarium? Now, to convince my parents - this is the hard part! Maybe for a birthday present?

That's my best bet. I'll try it!

They're escape artists lol Sorry about your mouse that didn't come back :[ He may have made it out and lived in your house, longest one of my hams went missing was three months and he was fine when we finally got him. Well if the side of the tank is high enough you won't need a lid but it would be better to have one. I prefer tanks to cages with bars. I think they're perfect for robo's, but you'll need to find a way of attaching a water bottle which could be tricky. Good luck persuading your parents :p Sorry if my spelling is wrong.

So maybe the tank would be better. I'm assuming I shouldn't use the little water dishes instead of a water bottle. I have to use one for my mouse cause he's in an aquarium and he doesn't know how to drink from a water bottle anyways, but I'll have to work out an arrangement to hold a water bottle if I can have hamsters. Thanks for your help!

A very shallow bowl would be fine but it would get dirty from bedding and poop 'n' all that jazz, so you'd have to change the water more frequently.... plus when I tried it my robo's would sit in it and get their fur all wet ._. You're welcome, I'm always happy to talk about hamsters :p

OK, so I'll see what I can find for a water bottle .... if this works out and my parents say yes. I had trouble cleaning the water bottle when I had one for my ham, but the dishes can get nasty. I hope they sell some suction cup apparatus for a water bottle, or I could just use a cage.
