Has anyone tried to "pen" Coturnix around a fruit tree (2 year old Nectarine Tree)? I have one in the corner of my yard near a block wall. The tree is currently separated from the grass portion of our yard with a plastic grass barrier, and has wood chips on the ground surrounding the tree.
I was thinking it would be a perfect place to pen up my roo's while fattening them up. However I am worried that their droppings might be too much federalize for the tree and kill it...

What are your thoughts? Thanks!!!
 
I heard they have 'hot' poo whatever that means, I think you need to compost their poo before you use it or else it will destroy plants? Something like that.
 
That's exactly what I was worried about. So unless I clean it out constantly I will most likely kill my tree... :(
