Male or female?

Our 3 chicks are about 6 weeks old, and we're wondering what their sexes are. My husband thinks the black&white (barred rock mix) and yellow&brown (easter egger) are males, but since all our hens had large crowns at this age, it's hard to be sure. I can add more pics if needed. Thank you!

I see two cockerels in the only two pictures showing up...

I just added a third, but those are the two we were wondering about. Our first batch of chicks and 2/3 are likely roosters... Awesome 😅

X2 on those being little roos.

Can't really tell, but looks like a pullet for #3. I'd say you are lucky!y to get one pullet. Have you seen the egg shape study? I think it has something to do with egg shape determining gender. It is a pretty neat read. You might want to check it out~might have better luck with your hatch then, but I don't know... I've never hatched big_smile.png

Yeah, we guessed pullet for that one, because the crown is so small. Well, if ever one of our hens goes broody again and they continue to have fertilized eggs (thanks to the local wild roosters), maybe we'll get more pullets next time. Now we need to decide on what to do with the roos 😕
