Okay I'm a first timer with ducks but my 3 week old Shetland duck seems to be almost panting?! Its under the light with the other two runner ducklings but there is plenty of room in the brooder to move away from the light and plenty water. It also seem to be heavy in breath as in I can hear it breathing, there is nothing visabally stuck to its nostrils and its eating, drinking, swimming and moving ok so what's going g on (pictured here at1week)

I am not a duck expert but as long as the duckling is acting like the others and has energy, it's been my experience that it will be OK. It's when it gets lethargic is when you know something is wrong. It sounds like you have plenty of space for it to regulate it's temp ok.

Sometimes ducklings do not do the smartest thing for themselves.

What is the temperature in the brooder?

Does she have a way to wash her head frequently? Even though you don't see clogged nares, it's best to allow them to wash their heads to prevent sinus, ear and eye infections, that can lead to respiratory infections.

Its got water where it can wash its beak just the traditional poultry water feeder but I was told not to give them anything deeper in case they drown but they do get a supervised swim a couple times a week. I'm not sure I will go check, what would you suggest for a 3 week old duckling?

About 75F for three weeks.

There is a sticky thread on Raising Ducklings - that describes head washers.
