I'm so excited my stomach is in knots, ack!

I had 12 shipped Barnevelder eggs, 1 was a yolker and 2 had blood rings that I removed at day 14. The nine left all look good, I can see movement in all and the air cells are looking pretty close to where they should be. Considering what I have read about shipped eggs, this seems really good so far.
Now the HARD part.... sit and wait.

How is a person supposed to go to work when there are fluffybutts being born. Being employed is sooooo inconvenient!

Congrats on the shipped eggs making it. I've lived in a postal dead zone before and it's no fun having poor to no hatches time and time again. Moved an hour away and voila! 70% hatching on shipped eggs.

Good to hear that success rate! A friend of mine had only 2 hatch out of 12 from shipped eggs and I have been worrying the whole time, I'm still worried something may go wrong in these last few day.

You never know. I'd get poor rates like 3 of 18 or 1 of 16 and most of those went to term but didn't hatch. I think your in good shape that your seeing a lot of movement. Shipped is really odd and it's all up to your postal zone how things go. Had four attempts at old house and best rate was the 3 of 18. Just and hour drive and state away and now have good rate on shipped. But now that I've a flock of one variety and two lines shouldn't have to get shipped eggs again. Knock on wood.

Congrats!!!! I put off doing shipped eggs for two years because of chances of havinga bad hatch. I just finished my first shipped eggs almost 3 weeks ago. Some beautiful silkies and out of 14 that made it to lockdown, 12 hatched healthy! My supplier did awesome at collecting/storing and packing. Lockdown to first pip is the absolute worse....lol nail biting anticipation.

So nice to hear good stories about shipped eggs!

Well I had one hatch at 20 1/2 days, that little bugger took about 18 minutes from pip to zip to hatch! I have one that just hatched minutes ago and I think 4-5 more with pips. I cant tell anymore since Zippy (the one that hatched so quickly) has knocked all the eggs around!
Finger crossed that more of the babies make it out today :)

holy cow, I am beside myself. So far 6 have hatched and doing well :) I have 1 in the bator that pipped at the wrong end but has a good sized whole, so I am going to let it be for awhile and just keep an eye on it. Two more eggs are just sitting there doing nothing. I'll get some pix later today. Right now all the babies are under the eco, so I cant get a good pic of them. I am so thankful that I got such a good result on shipped eggs!!

Well the hatch is over. Started with 12 eggs, nine made it to lockdown. Seven hatched but one didnt make it :( but they rest are doing awesome!!
