What in the world. My ducks are 11 months old. One went broody last month walked around short necked and ruffled feathers complaining, I put her off her chosen hidden nest not allowing her to return. In about a week she stopped pacing and trying to get back to the nest. Now when ever she sees me she assumes the hunched down ruffled feathers and squaking position while following me every where squawking annoyingly. But she ignores everyone else presence.
To me it seems a weird behavior. The girls were hatched by their mother so they were not bonded to me. But she now follows me around like I am her mom. If I run she runs behind me. With this awful awful noise. It may become an issue in my urban environment If she don't shut up.
Is she just still angry with me for forcing her off her nest or what? She is driving me crazy is this some how part of this broody behavior?
