These are my Mallard ducks, Lucky, Donald, and Hillary. Lucky really is lucky, she survived a hawk attack, but lost her partner Quackers. Donald and Hillary are my new 3 months old ducks... Donald is starting to get his new feathers. Anyway, I used to feed Lucky and Quackers poultry layer crumbled feed, which I got from the tractor supply store. I used "layer" because I had 2 females who laid pretty good eggs! Now I have a male too... Donald. I'm not sure if I should switch to the grower feed for his sake, or is it ok he eat the layer food that I feed the females? I think the difference is the amount of calcium. They also eat grass, bugs, dried mealy worms and occasional leaf lettuce or kale. Once in a while I get them feeder fish or live mealy worms.

My mallard drake has been eating layer food pretty much his whole life and I haven't seen any ill affects from it. He eats the same layer pellets as the girls along with greens, bugs and sometimes scratch grain.
