Hi, I decided to raise chickens and grow a garden in my backyard. Garden is growing beautifully and chickens have been growing. They are a few months old. I have 1 rhode island red, 2 barred rock, and 1 americuana. But I am worried some might be roosters.

do you have photos you could post?
where did you get the birds? farm store, breeder?
you do not post where you live? there are also state threads?
many health related articles you can peruse.

I am in california. Trying to post photos. Still figuring this all out.when I click on the picture icon and select the picture from my phone it doesn't add it. I got them all from feed stores. 3 from one store and the americuana from a differect feed store.

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us.

Try this link for instructions on how to add from a phone - https://www.backyardchickens.com/newsearch?search=adding+photos+from+a+phone. When you do manage, post them on the What Breed or Gender is This? forum.

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre
https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center, and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread

All the best

Please post clear photos at "what breed or gender is this," to discover what you really have. People there are very good at what they do.

are you able to tell her if they are roos or hens.. my uneducated guess would be 1 barred hen one roo
the others she has one of each also?

Thank you for the welcome. I returned the roosters to where I bought them as chicks. They paid us $30. Going to a free range farm to pick out some hens that are 6 months old. I was so sad to have to return the roosters but we are not allowed to have them in our town. Anyways, I will post pics when we get our new girls. :)
