Integrating young chickens with older ones

I have x2 - 6 month chickens (1 Orpington,1 Easter Hen) I have x3 - 8 week old (1 Delaware, 2 Welsummer) I have them separated with a baby gate now for 2 weeks in the big area with two coops for them to sleep & eat separately. The Orpington is dominate...there was a hawk above in the tree and the Orphington gave out a call and all the birds froze in place until the hawk left, does this mean that they are all listening to the Orpington and I can merge them together now.
