I have a one year old peckin who is "broody". I noticed a couple weeks ago that she started sitting in her nest for a good part of the day but would then leave for a few hours here and there. Then I ended up moving my chickens into the same building as her and they trashed her nest. A few days later she was no where to be found, I found a new nest across the yard in the square bales. She sits on it all day long and only leaves twice a day and only for a few minutes, but she is still laying an egg everyday..? I have not seen her leave the nest at all yet today so I'm not sure of she layed one today or not. I'm told if they are truly broody they I'll stop laying....?
