We have duck eggs that pipped yesterday, today two others that was behind it hatched already should I make small holes in other ones with pips??

Since they're pipped externally they are getting air so I would just wait... can you hear if they're peeping?

Ducks take much longer to hatch than chickens, but many an egg pipped first hatches later... hatches can take 24-48 hours after external pip...

Yes I can hear peeping and movement coming from more now, one of the first eggs pipped is finally starting to unzip. First time actually hatching, way exciting!

13 out of 16 hatched so far .We are over the moon. Wish someone warned me bout end of hatch incubator smell lol

Brilliant job!!! First duck hatch? That's an awesome hatch!!

Adorable little 'lings fo sure!

And yes, the end of hatch bator smell can get a bit ripe, lol... for next time, it helps to cut a piece of that rubbery gripper shelf liner and put it down on top of the bator floor mesh... helps with cleanup a lot and gives them nice grip surface to start out on... :)

Thx I will do that for my next set up, but yeh this was our first actual hatch. We tried not that long ago to incubate a twin duck egg and made it until lock down. I guess they are extremely hard to hatch one but didn't make it, kinda sad because it was pretty much full grown and other not so much and decayed in the shell, even though it had its own yolk it appeared to be taking from the other.

That is very good for first time!

Yeah, twins rarely make it to hatch and if they survive it's usually just 1 and they need assistance to hatch... personally, it's too sad for me so I won't even try...

Just glad you got a good experience from your first try! :)
