Yes I can hear peeping and movement coming from more now, one of the first eggs pipped is finally starting to unzip. First time actually hatching, way exciting!
Brilliant job!!! First duck hatch? That's an awesome hatch!!
Adorable little 'lings fo sure!
And yes, the end of hatch bator smell can get a bit ripe, lol... for next time, it helps to cut a piece of that rubbery gripper shelf liner and put it down on top of the bator floor mesh... helps with cleanup a lot and gives them nice grip surface to start out on...
Thx I will do that for my next set up, but yeh this was our first actual hatch. We tried not that long ago to incubate a twin duck egg and made it until lock down. I guess they are extremely hard to hatch one but didn't make it, kinda sad because it was pretty much full grown and other not so much and decayed in the shell, even though it had its own yolk it appeared to be taking from the other.
Yeah, twins rarely make it to hatch and if they survive it's usually just 1 and they need assistance to hatch... personally, it's too sad for me so I won't even try...
Just glad you got a good experience from your first try!
