Hello, my name is Jen, my family and I live in Dunnellon Florida, we are originally from Pompano Beach Fl, we moved here about 7 years ago to get away from the big city and live near better schools for our son. We have 5 acres and our nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away. I absolutely love living here. I have just recently finished building my chicken coop and on Wednesday I went to Holloway farms in Land o Lakes and purchased 6 little girls. 2 are Plymouth Barred rocks, 2 are Buff Orps, 1 Gold Laced Wyandotte and 1 Ameracauna. They are 8 days old today and are doing magnificent and I'm absolutely in love. I'm a Certified Vet Tech, my specialty is in ER and critical care for Small Animals and Exotics and Large Animal Nutrition, after doing this for 25 years, i decided last year to take a breather and help my husband with his business for a few years. I have to say, with all my experiences, I have very little experience with Chickens besides what my books told me. I was very happy to see this forum so that I may pick some brains here and there. I look forward to the joining in the community.
