I bought 4 pullets about 9 weeks ago. They are all about the same age. The red cochin started to crow yesterday morning. It starts at 5.30AM and ends at 6.05AM (at 6.00AM, the automatic door opens). He/ she doesn't crow during the rest of the day. This morning it happened again. But it is not a real laud crow I heard on other roosters. Is it possible that a pullet 'crows' in the morning? He/ she is the boss, from the day I got them, but I don't think he/ she looks really manly for a rooster

I think I see some saddle feathers poking through, but it's hard to tell because I can't zoom in on the photos. Could you post a single picture from the side?

Also, are you positive it was crowing, and just not a bunch of squawking?

I'm not 100% positive that it is crowing. But it is very different from the other noises they make. I guess squawking is what they do when a large bird is flying over? That's very different too

.
ps. my camera doesn't take a clear picture today.
