Hi everyone!
I live on the Central Coast of Calif. and after graduating with a degree in Poultry Production from Cal Poly a long long time ago, I am finally using my college degree again.
It is amazing how much I have forgotten and how raising a small backyard flock is so different from working on a commercial egg ranch.( Which I did for a few years very long ago.) With a 100,00 birds is a house, you never really pay attention to any one bird.
Now I worry about my 5 older birds and the 4 6 week old babies I just got today. I had to go check on them before I could even think of calling it a night. I was worried the at 60* they would be cold. They are snug as a bug in the coop. Why husband and friends think I am a little crazy!
