Is it normal for an unbroody duck to quit laying while her roommates are sitting?
Hi. I've never had a broody duck before but I now have 2! Wendy and Hoover are sharing a nest of 7 eggs. They have a 3rd "roommate" Elsa who hangs out with them but doesn't seem to sit on the eggs at all, she just sits next to the other 2 while they are in the nest.
None of them have laid eggs in a while. Wendy or Hoover laid their last egg on the 6th (I can't tell their eggs apart) But Elsa hasn't laid since the 1st. Wendy and Hoover have been sitting since end of May. I've felt her belly and there doesn't seem to be an egg in there. Although, I've never had to feel for an egg before so I don't know if I'm doing it right.
Any advice?
