Hi all,
A while ago I had an aggressive rooster who rode my girl so hard he balded her back. Tore out so many feathers and hurt her skin. He is no longer with us and it doesn't seem like her feathers are growing back. Do I buy a feather fixer feed? Do the feathers grow back? I feel bad for my girl - she's all black with green sheen and so bald on her back. :( Poor girl. her skin is fine, she isn't red or irritated and it doesn't bother her. What should I do?

Sometimes they won't grow back until the chicken molts.
You can cover the bald area with a chicken saddle to help prevent sunburn and others picking at her bare back.
Black with a green sheen is bruising. Make sure you check closely under the wings for any broken skin which can sometime be hidden, if so treat with plain neosporin or vetericyn.
 
We have a hen with same issue,other hens seemed to be irate it, ,separated her & tx.with Blu Kote spray,seems to be healing, plan on place her back with others in day or so.
