Our call duck mom hatched 10 baby ducklings, and left the last one behind. The one she left behind was hatching, and I couldn't just leave it in the nest, so I decided to put it in the incubator to hatch. I was going to give it back after it got fluffy and could walk.
But It took a long time to hatch, and when it did, I saw this weird thing on it, where it was absorbing the yolk. It's almost as if it didnt absorb all of it or something. It did hatch itself, we did NOT help it.
The weird thing is, is It seems to be strong, and it's lifting its head and acting like a normal duckling.

Do you think it'll absorb the rest? It's very strange, I've never seen anything like it.

if the yolk indeed wasn't absorbed then it might make it, keep it separate from the others and make sure that where you keep it has no sharp things that it could hurt itself on

Okay, we have it in a Guinea Pig cage away from the others. It's doing okay right now. There's no way it can hurt its self in that, so I'll keep it in there. Do you think the mother will accept it if it is away from her for a few days?
